Session FAQ's

1. When should I reserve my session?

I recommend we give ourselves at least 3 weeks notice before our session date to ensure we have time to properly plan your wardrobe and the location. I can also book out up to one year in advanced. Most clients will book about 1-3 months in advanced.

2. Where do the sessions take place?

I have multiple location options. Outdoor options will be provided with sample images and range around the Treasure Valley. I commonly use the Boise Foothills or a local Boise park unless otherwise planned. For indoor sessions I use a beautiful full-service studio in Meridian. This is best for when we want to avoid unpleasant weather or if we have a newborn session. Boudoir sessions are almost always booked for inside the studio, but we can discuss if you have a vision for outdoor.

3. When should I book my Maternity session?

I recommend booking for around week 31-33 of your pregnancy. This is a sweet spot in pregnancy when you still feel good enough to walk around and stand for poses but also have your bump in all its glory. But I do still encourage you to reach out and chat about a session up until you are in labor! We can always take it easy and ensure you have the timeless photos of this memory!

4. Do you offer Hair and Makeup services?

Yes! Hair and Makeup is always provided for Boudoir sessions and is an Add-On option for all family sessions.

5. How do I choose my digital images?

After your session, I’ll send you a curated gallery within 2-3 weeks. You can then choose your digital images or upgrade to purchase more. You will see all the images before you select your final picks!

6. I have feral children and a spouse that isn't exactly excited about this session, what do we do for this?

I completely understand this fear and as a mom to 2 young children I feel your pain. This can be a huge stressor for parents during a session, but I want to ensure you that I have definitely seen it all when it comes to kids, and they don't worry me in the slightest. I have quite a few tricks up my sleeve and if I can feel they are burning out, we will go quickly and efficiently. As far as the spouse not feeling exactly happy, I can promise I do my best to make it as pain-free as possible. I have a long background in taking groomsmen portraits from my wedding days and have always heard "Wow that wasn't so bad" from the men. It can be hard to ease up but once we get going it isn't as terrible as they may think!

7. How long does it take to get my final products and digital images back?

For digital images I typically take 2 weeks to edit. For products it will depend on what product we have ordered, but the range is 1-8 weeks. When we sit down and order products you will be fully aware of every timeline so you don't end up waiting longer than expected.
